Hello! Njessi here. I write this charming blog.
I generally play healers. And I play one now. But, after playing a healer in 3 different MMO’s, at launch I decided to branch out and play first a Jedi Sentinel… followed by a Sith Marauder when I decided to take a walk on the dark side…
Well, that was the plan. After two years of that, I was lured back to the even darker side of healing, and was raiding as my Operative… then as a Sorcerer. Then back to op when they nerfed sorc into the ground.
Which necessarily means that I write a lot about healing and occasionally stab things.
Then a 3 year break. Now I’m a Filthy Casual. On some-server-or-other. They merged! I can’t keep track.
You swear a lot.
Too fucking bad.
What’s a “Njessi”?
I encountered Njessi, this godawful sea monster patrolling a river in the newbie area, in Dark Age of Camelot, my first MMO. She had a bad habit of chomping me when I was trying to cross.1
How does one pronounce “Njessi”?
TL;DR, I say the “N” is silent. This is probably not the case. Shut up.
MMO Gaming
I am getting old, so clearly I played a bunch of other MMO’s before this one. Besides Dark Age of Camelot, mentioned above, I’ve played Star Wars Galaxies (obviously, see “About Hawtpants“), World of Warcraft, and a brief stint in Wildstar.
IRL
I met my husband at the Star Wars Galaxies Fan Fest. He was the infamous forum troll, Jounville Blackferne2.
A few years later, we were ready to spawn. As you know from health class, when a mommy gamer and a daddy gamer love each other very much… they go by GameStop and purchase a baby gamer. And, like Amazon pre-orders, the delivery date is just a rough estimate. The Little Jedi is 12 and is murdering all teh things.
We both have full-time jobs so our playtime is limited. We’re definitely “casual” players.
