Down The Decorating Rabbit Hole
So it’s been a while… because I’ve been decorating. Previously I focused on fashion for good reason — if I focused on something else as crazily as fashion, there’d be no room for anything else. For the longest time I had one lonely stronghold that I lazily decorated, but
The stronghold bonus is a gateway drug. Just unlock them, they said. You can leave them empty, they said.
So I unlocked them ALL. I learned I definitely cannot just leave an empty stronghold. For the last six months I FUSSED. I started out with crafting and rep decos and then transitioned to buying cartel items from the GTN when I finally had cash. Always Be Upgrading!
This is boring, on to the pictures! The most “done” of my strongholds (that’s a lie, they’re never done) is the Kaas City one. The theme behind this one is a military outpost for imperial intelligence, for briefings, meetings, and whatnot.
Note, I’ve tried to bring decent lighting to my strongholds so none of these images have been retouched.
Front entry
Just a boring front office, nothing to see, definitely not a secret military installation, carry on.
Armory
The armory is across the way from the front hall. I like using round floor paneling in weird WEIRD L-shaped spaces
Sith Conference Room/ Library
The visiting Sith get the best facilities. Or they will choke you.
Downstairs Hall
I really like those hanging lights… otherwise it’s a super serious hallway.
Briefing Room (large)
I thought this room was just set up for a stage. So, hi, welcome to my Ted Talk on why the Republic totally sucks.
Originally this room was crammed with individual chairs. 66 to be precise. But with a 350 hook budget, that screwed up a LOT of the other rooms. So the tables were added (I like the look of them better anyway). Now with 27 chairs, 9 tables = 36 total items, I get 30 to spare elsewhere.
Stairs
The hardest part about stairs is to NOT waste too much decoration on them. Remember, 350 hooks are not a lot.
Outside
The outside is also a nod to the hook limit. Definitely minimal. And I definitely didn’t line the edge with blast pads to YEET unsuspecting people off the side.
Main Military Strategery Room
All the military… stuff? Computers? It’s cool-looking.
Upstairs Hall/ Lounge
This room is difficult to decorate because it’s just a glorified hall from point A to point B but hey, it’s now a lounge. That’s a test. Imperials don’t lounge. You’re all fired. And by fired I mean executed.
Conference Room
It’s not as nice as the sith conference room, obviously. This is for the plebs.
Briefing Room (Small)
Beware of tiny chairs! They eat your deco budget. There are 18 chairs in here.
Medbay
For when you’re inevitably force choked
That concludes the tour. If you want to know what a specific deco is, just ask in the comments.
